January Yucheng Li is a music composer, producer, singer, songwriter, and Cucurbit Flute player currently based in New York.
He has composed music for films, soundtracks, and music libraries. His writing styles vary from orchestral, pop, action, romantic, emotional, jazz, horror, and electronic, to traditional Chinese music.

January started his music journey by learning and performing traditional Chinese music. He began to play Cucurbit Flute (Hulusi) at 8 and obtained the Level 5 Certificate from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Based on his unique understanding of Chinese classical music, he combines Chinese traditional instruments with the orchestra in his compositions, demonstrating the musical integration of East and West.
With a great passion for film scoring, January consciously acquires academic knowledge and scoring skills and expands his compositional styles. Equipped with skills in memorable melodic writing, he can always compose and enhance the emotion of storytelling. He has been composing creative scores with synthesizers and exploring their combination with orchestral instruments. Since 2023, January composed music for multiple short films, including "A Letter from Future," "Human, Is That You?" and "Journey" (Animation).
Driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence, in 2023-24 Season 3, January won the "Golden Prize" in the Original Composition category of the London Young Musician Competition (2023 Season 3). He won the "Silver Prize" in the Original Composition category of the Saint-Saëns International Music Competition (2023 Season 2). Besides, January won the "Outstanding Shortlist Works Award" in the 2nd International Youth Film and Music Creative Exhibition (2023). In the 2022 International Electronic Music Competition (IEMC), January became one of the finalists with his composition for a short animation film, "Spring." During his internship at Uniview Technologies Company, he produced and mixed the music for promotional videos. Moreover, he composed several soundtracks for an influencer with over 700,000 followers on Bilibili.
January Yucheng Li is now pursuing a Master of Music in Music Theory and Composition: Screen Scoring at New York University. He has been working and composing every day since he found his love in composition, and he is eager to collaborate with you and write music for your projects!
